29.02.2016 Drawings

I have started taking oil painting and drawing classes in my past because I have always been drawn to the idea of being able to draw and paint beautifully. I think it is one of the most satisfying and fullfilling activities, where you create something beautiful, meaningful and interesting not only for yourself to enjoy, but also for people around you, and perhaps for generations to come. Although my love of pottery has overtaken my love of drawing and all of my free time as well, I am rarely ever drawing anything at all these days. But I am very well prepared, just in case the drawing or painting urge hits me in the middle of an apocalypse, I will have enough supplies to draw and paint to last me life time. I have made sure that I have researched and equipped my pottery studio with wide variety of drawing supplies for my students as well. Usually in the beginning of my glazing classes I go over all available methods of glazing in my studio and make sure that all beginning students have information about various techniques they can use and they see examples of these applications. So far using commercial brush on glazes and transfer tissues has proven to be most popular decoration choices, but there are few students in each class that will explore the more daring decoration methods. Some choose precision applicator tools, some choose ceramic pencils, or brushes and underglazes, and voila!
