06.08.2016 Tall vase made out of two wheel thrown piecesOne of the ways of making a tall piece is by throwing several parts separately and then stacking them up on top of each other. I had to make this 50cm high vase as one of the commission pieces. I threw two parts separately. I had to make sure that the top of the firsth one was teh same width as the bottom of the next one. After letting them both dry to leather hard, scoring and sliping the adjoining ends I stacked the second piece on the top of the first one and smothed the joint by adding a soft coil of clay. Once I had the whole piece ready, I could add the decorative elements on 4 sides on the piece. Done!
