01.10.2019 Trimming classWhen you throw pottery on the wheel you often end up with extra clay om the bottom of your pot, which later needs to be trimmed off. In our trimming classes we pursue several goals. One of which is making your pot even thicknes all over so that it dries evenly, otherwise the thinner part can dry and shrink faster than thicker areas and that can cause cracking. The next goal is to create a foot ring, which you can leave unglazed and glaze the base. The third goal is to repeat your inside shape on the outside which will help you to make your wall thickness even all over.
