14.10.2019 Glazing Potters often have a love hate relationship with glazes. Glazing is usually the last step in the making and it happens after all your forming, trimming, sponging, refining, smoothing and cleaning. After you have invested so much of your time, your heart and your resources into a piece the last thing you want to happen is to have a glaze issue. I think the way we react to our first glaze issue is very crucial. There are those who get frustrated and declare the glazing an enemy and go to a long lasting war with glazes, and there are those who say, hmmm, let me see if I can take my time and figure out how to avoid this mess next time. I feel like it always pays to keep in mind how much of your final success depends on glazing (a lot!) and aproach it with due patience and respect if you will.
